I have been offered a permanent position in Bahrain and i'm looking for info on Housing,standard of living etc. I've worked 9 months in Dubai a few years ago so how does it compare? Any info is more than welcome

Hi Jan,

The standard of living is roughly comparable to Dubai. Grocery items, restaurants etc cost about the same. Electronics and jewellery tend to be a little more expensive in Bahrain.

The real pleasant surprise comes when it comes to housing, which is a LOT cheaper than Dubai. It all depends on how fancy you like your accommodation of course, but you can get a very decent 2-bedroom apartment for about BD150 (approx 1500 dirhams) a month. Try getting that in Dubai!
