Bahrain Grand Prix Fun Run -2004 @ Bahrain Int'l Circuit

The first non-motorsport event to take place in the Middle East's Formula One venue - BIC (Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir) is going to be a charity run which is open to all!

The Grand Prix 5km Charity Fun Run is set for September 10 (this Friday - 2 days from today) to help raise funds for various local charities, including The Palm Association (TPA), Dreamflight Bahrain and the Child Care Home, in Gudaibiya.

> Runners of all ages are welcome to register for the run

> To enter the fun run, runners are required to raise at least BD5 -
which will go straight to charity.

> Each runner will receive a certificate and a T-shirt at the event.
> Entrance for spectators is BD2 per person.

> Under 12's MUST be accompanied by adults.

> No pets are allowed.

More than 400 runners are expected to participate, including athletes from Bahrain's running clubs. Organisers said the event was not a race but a great chance for people to take advantage of the excellent facilities at BIC. These include refreshment stalls, stalls offering goods from different countries Cultural shows representing the different communities in Bahrain will be staged.

~ Gates open @ 3.00PM & the run starts @ 5.00PM.

~ Registration for the event is 5BD/runner & will also take place on
September 10th between 3.00PM - 4.30PM .
